College of Arts Council Holds 13th Session: Emphasizing High-Impact Publishing and Integrating AI into Curricula

The Council of the College of Arts held its 13th session on Thursday, January 29, 2026, chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Hanno Al-Taie, and attended by all council members.
The Council discussed several items on its agenda, most notably:

Scientific Publishing: Emphasizing the importance of publishing research in Scopus-indexed journals and encouraging collaboration with international professors in co-authoring scientific papers.

Research Teams: Urging the expedited completion of work by research teams and the publication of their scholarly output.

Academic Defenses: Mandating that Master’s and Doctoral viva voce (defense) sessions be attended exclusively by the examination committee, while allowing students’ families to attend only during the announcement of the final result.

Technological Integration: In line with global scientific advancements, the Council approved the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Knowledge Technologies as a subject within the curricula of the college’s scientific departments.
