On April 12, 2026, the Translation Department at the College of Arts held a academic seminar titled “Linguistic Issues in Translation”. The event took place as part of ongoing academic initiatives designed to enhance specialized knowledge and was attended by several faculty members and students from the department.
The main objective of the seminar was to examine key linguistic challenges encountered by translators across different translation domains, with particular attention to obstacles that complicate the accurate transfer of meaning between languages. Several department professors presented research papers addressing topics such as difficulties in semantic translation, the influence of cultural differences on language, and how context affects word choice and the use of appropriate linguistic structures.
