A Workshop on Safety and Vocational health
Under sponsorship of the dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ali Mohammad Afeen, the College of Arts, in cooperation with the College of Medicine, held an awareness workshop on safety and vocational hygiene in Ibn Al-Athir Hall, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Lecturer Dr. Nuha Hajim Assaf and assistant prof Dr Nadya Hazim Sa’id from the College of Medicine, the department of family and society, delivered lectures. The workshop was attended by the college dean and the assistant dean for scientific affairs, in addition to the teachers and students of the college.
At that workshop tackled two topics: Personal safety and occupational health, where the types of health risks resulting from work were explained, and health problems related to office work were explained, especially if it is for long periods. The second topic was about safety and mental health in the work environment, where the importance of work for mental health was discussed, as well as the types of psychological risks related to the work environment, ways to prevent them, and ways to promote mental health.
