Master’s Thesis on “The Humanitarian Initiatives of Activists and Their Role in Social Solidarity: A Field Study in the City of Kirkuk”

The Department of Sociology at the College of Arts held a thesis defense for the master’s dissertation titled “The Humanitarian Initiatives of Activists and Their Role in Social Solidarity: A Field Study in the City of Kirkuk”, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The session was attended in part by Professor Dr. Hatim Fahd Hanno, Dean of the College, Dr. Firas Abbas Fadel, Head of the Department, as well as several faculty members.
The thesis, submitted by postgraduate student Alaa Ihsan Rumeidh Abbas from the Department of Sociology, explored the significance of civil activists’ humanitarian efforts in promoting the values of social solidarity.
The study aimed to highlight the role of activist-led humanitarian initiatives in fostering social cohesion within the city of Kirkuk.
