Participation of the French Language Department in a Discussion Session on Goncourt Prize-Winning Novels
Assistant Lecturer Bara Ibrahim Mahmoud, Mr. Yassin Faris Salem (Assistant Translator), graduate student Ali Hassan Mahmoud, and a group of undergraduate students from the French Language Department participated in a discussion session on the novels awarded the Goncourt Prize – Choice of the East. The session was held at the French Cultural Institute in Baghdad from April 26 to 27, 2025.
The event included a meeting with renowned French writer Philippe Claudel, President of the Goncourt Academy, and was moderated by Salma Kojok, a Goncourt Prize laureate.
This session brought together French language departments from various Iraqi universities and was attended by a wide audience interested in Francophone literature.
