Dr. Aws Adel Abdulwahab, a faculty member in the Translation Department at the College of Arts, participated in an international online symposium held via Zoom on June 19, 2025. The event saw the involvement of researchers and professors from British, international, and Iraqi universities.

The symposium focused on strategies for developing scientific research and enhancing its capabilities within Iraqi higher education institutions. During his role, Dr. Abdulwahab presented an analytical overview of the challenges facing researchers in Iraq. These challenges include limited access to scientific resources, language barriers, research methodologies, and the scarcity of specialized scientific research software.

He also highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to overcome these obstacles, primarily through empowering academic competencies and scholarship recipients and activating their role in enriching Iraqi universities with global knowledge and expertise.

This participation is part of the joint research training program between the Al-Nahrain Network and University College London (UCL). The program aims to build the capacities of Iraqi researchers and enhance the quality of higher education, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes the critical role of scientific research in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.
