The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahad Al-Tai, and the Head of the Department, Dr. Hala Khalid Najm, along with several college faculty members, attended part of the discussion.

The study, presented by student Rahma Ethar Abdul Kareem Al-Maamari from the Translation Department, focused on evaluating the translation of English literary texts into Arabic, recognizing it as a significant challenge for translators.

The research aimed to investigate the concept, classification, and theories of politeness, highlighting the difficulties in translating it within literary texts from English to Arabic. Furthermore, it explored politeness strategies in both languages and, finally, proposed alternative translations when existing ones were deemed unsuitable.
