College of Arts Participates in a Scientific Symposium on the Reality of Iraqi Scientific Research and Prospects for its Development

A number of members of the College of Arts Council, led by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, participated in a scientific symposium titled “Iraqi Scientific Research: Between Ambition and Global Ranking.” The symposium was organized today, July 19th, by the Presidency of the University of Mosul in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education.
The keynote lecture at the symposium was delivered by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Abdel Dhad, in the presence of the Head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Professor Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayat, and the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, along with a large gathering of deans and university professors.
The symposium addressed the most prominent issues facing scientific research in Iraq in general, and at the University of Mosul in particular. It highlighted the challenges hindering the quality of scientific research and discussed ways to enhance and advance the academic research environment to keep pace with global rankings and serve the goals of development and scientific progress in the country.
