A Doctoral Dissertation on Turkish Policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Department of History at the College of Arts held a doctoral dissertation defense on “Turkish Policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992-2011).” The defense took place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Ta’i, and the Head of the Department, Dr. Mahmoud Salih Saeed, were in attendance, along with several faculty members.

The study, submitted by student Zaid Mahmoud Hilal Annaz Al-Badrani of the History Department, addressed the political, economic, and social relations between the two countries from 1992 to 2011. It specifically examined Turkey’s role during the Serbian War against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The dissertation’s objective was to highlight Turkey’s internal and external role, particularly through the UN Security Council, in ending the war.
