French Department Faculty Members Participate in International Training Course in France

In a summer training program for French language instructors from Iraqi universities, and with support from the Cultural Attaché at the French Embassy in Baghdad, a group of female faculty members from the Department of French Language at the College of Arts, University of Mosul, recently participated in a specialized training course. The course was held at the CAVILAM Institute in Vichy, France, one of the most prominent institutes for developing pedagogical and linguistic competencies in French language education.

The participants included:

  • Assistant Professor Dr. Ilham Hassan Silo
  • Lecturer Zahraa Muayyad Abbas
  • Assistant Lecturer Fayhaa Hamid Khdheir
  • Assistant Lecturer Sahar Taha Abdullah

The course, which took place from July 21 to August 1, 2025, covered various training modules focused on the latest interactive methods for teaching French. It also explored the use of artificial intelligence and modern digital technologies in the university learning environment.

This participation aims to develop the faculty members’ skills and elevate the academic performance of the French Language Department, ultimately providing a contemporary educational experience that will positively impact the department’s students.

Furthermore, this engagement reflects the commitment of the College of Arts and its French Language Department to achieving Sustainable Development Goals by promoting international academic collaboration between Iraqi universities and global educational institutions. This initiative opens new avenues for exchanging expertise and knowledge.
