Environmental Education for Peace: Arts Faculty Presents at Mosul University’s Peacebuilding Conference

Title: Faculty Member from the College of Arts Contributes to the Second Scientific Conference on Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence at the University of Mosul

Dr. Harith Ali Al-Ubaidi, a faculty member from the Department of Sociology, College of Arts, participated in the proceedings of the Second Scientific Conference organized by the Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence Center at the University of Mosul in collaboration with the College of Law. The conference was held from October 6 to 7, 2025, under the theme “Ecological Balance and its Role in Peacebuilding.”

During the conference, Dr. Al-Ubaidi presented his research titled “Environmental Education and its Role in Development and Promoting the Concept of Peace.” His paper addressed the critical importance of environmental awareness in achieving sustainable development and disseminating a culture of peace within society.

The conference witnessed extensive participation from researchers and faculty members across several Iraqi universities, in addition to the attendance of representatives from civil society organizations. This wide participation underscored the significance of joint action in fostering the values of coexistence and constructing a sustainable society characterized by peace and harmony.
