Workshop on Unemployment and its Impact on Youth Social Identity
As part of the Continuing Education Unit’s program, the Department of Sociology successfully hosted a scholarly workshop on Thursday, October 9, 2025, titled “Unemployment and its Impact on the Social Identity of Youth,” jointly managed by Professor Dr. Firas Abbas Fadhel and Lecturer Dr. Abdul Qadir Ismail. The discussions critically examined the complex social, economic, and educational variables that contribute to joblessness among young adults, subsequently analyzing the far-reaching psychological, social, and economic repercussions of unemployment on individuals and the community. The strong attendance by both faculty and students underscored the perceived gravity of this topic, highlighting youth unemployment as a critical socio-economic challenge that profoundly affects the stability of society and the future prospects of its younger generation.
