Faculty of Arts Council Convenes Fifth Session to Deliberate Academic and Administrative Matters
The Council of the College of Arts at the University of Mosul convened its fifth session for the academic year 2025–2026 on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The session was chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahad Hanno Al-Tai, and attended by all esteemed Council members.
During the meeting, the Council addressed several items listed on its agenda. Noteworthy among the deliberations was the emphasis on the critical importance of scholarly publication in Scopus-indexed repositories. Furthermore, the Council urged academic staff holding Master’s degrees to complete their studies and obtain their Doctorate qualification.
Organizational discussions also featured prominently, including a directive to prohibit the provision of confectionery or elaborate refreshments during Master’s and Doctoral thesis defense proceedings. A requirement was also stressed for students to adhere to a dress code necessitating the wearing of modest and subdued colors.
Finally, the Council reviewed the mechanisms governing joint supervision of Doctoral dissertations, an initiative deemed essential for the advancement of the College’s scientific and research caliber.
