Graduate Students in Arts Participate in Joint Research Program with New York University
A number of graduate students from the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts participated in the “Participatory Research—Tools for Supporting Localization” program organized by the Center for Peacebuilding at New York University (NYU).
The program included a series of lectures and discussions that addressed mechanisms for community involvement in diagnosing problems affecting social peace and finding appropriate solutions for them.
Students from both the Iraqi and American sides also worked on preparing joint research projects concerned with specifically enhancing peacebuilding in Iraqi society.
The activities of this program were carried out in collaboration with the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Hanno, the Head of the Department of Sociology, Professor Dr. Firas Abbas Al-Bayati, and Dr. Noor Hisham Al-Attar.
