Master’s Thesis Defense: Qatari-Sudanese Relations (1995–2013)

The Department of History at the College of Arts successfully held a public defense for a Master’s thesis titled “Qatari-Sudanese Relations (1995–2013)” on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

The session was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hatem Fahd Al-Tai, the Head of the History Department, Dr. Saleh Mahmoud Saeed, and several faculty members.

Scope and Objectives

The study, submitted by researcher Ali Raheel Shlash Al-Shammari, provides a comprehensive historical and political analysis of the bilateral ties between Qatar and Sudan. The research focuses on:

  • The evolution of diplomatic relations and significant political shifts.

  • Strategic economic support and developmental initiatives.

  • Cultural cooperation and exchange during the reign of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir of Qatar.
