Inaugural Issue of “Critical Reviews in Orientalism” Released by the College of Arts

As part of its core scientific and intellectual priorities, the Oriental Studies Unit at the College of Arts has announced the publication of the first issue of its quarterly series titled “Critical Reviews in Orientalism.” This series aims to provide rigorous introductory and critical readings of the latest publications in the field of Orientalism, serving the needs of specialists, researchers, and those interested in this complex area of study.

Highlights of the First Issue

The debut issue features a collection of scholarly reviews prepared by members of the Unit, focusing on the works of prominent contemporary Orientalists. Notable inclusions are:

  • Carole Hillenbrand: The renowned British historian and Orientalist, and recipient of the King Faisal International Prize for Islamic Studies.
