Sustainable development– Poverty Eradication Poverty Eradication The eradication of poverty in all its forms (the first goal of the sustainable development goals) is the cornerstone for achieving social justice and economic stability in Iraq. Achieving this goal requires building strong social safety nets and providing equal economic opportunities to empower the most vulnerable groups through sustainable development management to ensure a decent life for all.
The Department of History organizes a scientific workshop on the economic and social dimensions of industrial development.
Under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Hatem Fahd hinou al-Taie, and in cooperation with the continuing education unit, the history department at the Faculty of Arts organized a scientific workshop entitled “Economic and social dimensions of industrial development throughout history and its impact on the fight against poverty and hunger”, on Tuesday, 10/2/2026. The workshop witnessed the participation of a group of professors of the department, and dealt with multiple axes that shed light on industrial transformations through the ages, their economic and social repercussions, and their role in reducing the phenomena of poverty and hunger, with scientific discussions that enriched the axes of the workshop and contributed to enhancing academic awareness among the attendees.
