A Novel Innovative Tooth Numbering System Developed by the College of Dentistry / University of Mosul

In an academic atmosphere enriched with a passion for knowledge, innovation, and the advancement of dental science, and under the supervision of the College Deanship, an evaluation test was conducted for a newly developed tooth numbering system entitled Haithem’s Bident System (HBS). The test took place in the halls of the University of Mosul – College of Dentistry, as part of assessing its practical efficiency and suitability for both academic and clinical applications.
This work was carried out by fifth-year student researcher Haithem Mohammed Noor, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Idrees Dawood, and Assistant Professor Dr. Reem Ali Al-Jarrah.
The test results demonstrated a significant superiority of the HBS over the internationally recognized FDI tooth numbering system, particularly in terms of ease of learning, reduction of application errors, and speed of performance. These findings highlight its potential as a promising alternative in dental numbering systems.
This work falls within the broader scientific efforts aimed at developing educational and clinical tools, as well as enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of practices in the field of dentistry.
