A seminar in the Department of Environmental Sciences on the efficiency of gamma rays in producing environmentally friendly nanoparticles from the callus of the blessed grocery plant, Portulaca oleracea..
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Yousra Majeed Al-Shaker, and under the supervision and presence of the Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Khalil, and within the series of seminars in the Department of Environmental Sciences, the Department of Environmental Sciences held a seminar delivered by master’s student Nour Ali Najm Al-Din about her thesis entitled (Efficiency of X-rays). We also investigated the production of environmentally friendly nanoparticles from the callus of the blessed grocery plant (Portulaca oleracea) and tested their efficiency in bioremediation) under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Rehab Abdel-Jabbar Hamed and Professor Dr. Laith Ahmed Najm.
The study dealt with finding an effective method to sterilize plant seeds exposed to radiation and studying the effect of gamma rays on the shoot and root system of seedlings treated physically.
