College of Environmental Sciences

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, the College of Environmental Sciences / Women’s Affairs Committee and the Psychological Counseling Committee, in cooperation with the Community Police, held a workshop entitled (Misuse of Social Media Sites is a Major Cause of Electronic Blackmail), today, Sunday, November 17, 2024, in the College Discussion Hall.

It was delivered by Mr. Assistant Director of Community Police in Nineveh, Brigadier General Hazem Najm Abdullah and Commissioner Hanaa Ahmed Jassim, Head of the Women’s Unit.

The workshop included explaining the correct methods for using social media sites, how to deal with them and their purpose. It also included the methods used by blackmailers to lure victims and what are the legal penalties for them.

The workshop aimed to educate young people about the correct use of social media sites.
