Under the patronage and attendance of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, and the attendance of the Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Khalil, and within the series of seminars for graduate students in the Department of Environmental Sciences, three seminars were held in the department today, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in the college discussion hall.
The first lecture was given by researcher Ahmed Muhammad Younis entitled “The extent of the contribution of ISO 14044 in achieving environmental sustainability (an analytical study in the laboratories of the Northern Iraqi Cement Cooperative)”, the second was given by researcher Aya Zaal entitled “Bioaccumulation of heavy metal elements in plants spread in Nineveh Governorate”, and the third was given by researcher Asia Muhammad Saleh entitled “Investigation of toxic plants in different environments using molecular biology and artificial intelligence”
The first lecture included identifying the efforts made by industrial companies to achieve sustainable production according to the dimensions of sustainable development in light of the application of ISO 14044.
While the second lecture included assessing the level of environmental pollution in areas that witnessed industrial, military and agricultural activities in Nineveh Governorate, which in turn may cause soil and water pollution with heavy metals.
Finally, the third lecture included investigating the types of toxic plants, classifying them and encouraging them with molecular conditions.
