A scientific visit for Environmental Technology Department students to the Al-Shifa Complex Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Following the directives of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, to support the educational process, and under the supervision of the Head of the Environmental Technology Department, Dr. Ayad Fadhil Al-Nama, and as a continuation of the series of field activities for the department’s students, fourth-year students in the Environmental Technology Department conducted a scientific visit to the Al-Shifa Complex Wastewater Treatment Plant as part of their Wastewater Treatment course. They were accompanied by a group of department instructors, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
The visit included an overview of the plant’s operation stages and how the resulting slag is treated before being released into the river, according to approved Iraqi specifications and requirements.
The visit aimed to enhance the theoretical aspect with practical application.
