Launch of the training course at the College of Environmental Sciences on the use of modern technologies to monitor climate change.

Under the patronage of Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Yusra Majeed Al-Shaker, and the follow-up of the Head of the Climate Change Department, Dr. Ali Zain Al-Abidin Al-Azeer. As part of the Continuing Education Unit’s activities to contribute to raising and developing the skills of government employees, the training course, titled “Modern Geographical Techniques in Monitoring Climate Change,” began on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the college’s discussion hall. The five-day course will continue until April 17, 2025.

– Assistant Lecturer Asmaa Mu’ayyad Saadallah, College of Environmental Sciences, Department of Climate Change.
– Assistant Lecturer Layali Adel Saber, College of Environmental Sciences, Department of Climate Change.
The course included an introduction to the ArcGIS program and its applications in water resources, climate change, data download sources, and the importance of global positioning (GPS) in geographic information systems. It also explained how to create climate maps using ArcGIS.
