College of Environmental Sciences

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, and in the presence of the Vice Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, and as part of the activities of the Continuing Education Unit to contribute to raising and developing the skills of staff in government departments, the College of Environmental Sciences/Legal Affairs Division, in cooperation with the University of Mosul Presidency/Department of Studies and Planning/Sustainable Development Unit, held a training course entitled “Institutional Governance as a Mechanism for Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption” in the college’s discussion hall.

The course was presented by:

– Assistant Professor Dr. Ikram Falih Ahmed

– Assistant Lecturer Rasoul Mohammed Saeed

The course addressed the general principles of governance, the roles of oversight structures, mechanisms for reducing the risks of administrative and financial corruption, as well as reviewing the best successful practices in this field. The course concluded with recommendations supporting the development of a work environment based on compliance and integrity, and enhancing the effectiveness of organizational procedures within the institution. It also aimed to promote the concepts of good governance and solidify the principles of transparency and accountability in institutional work. The course achieved five Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

In closing, the Dean’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Waleed Saeed Al-Abbasi, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Assistant Professor Dr. Ikram Falih Ahmed of the College of Law at the University of Mosul.
