College of Environmental Sciences

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Waleed Saeed Al-Abbasi, and with the follow-up and attendance of the Head of the Department of Environmental Health, Dr. Mohammed Yahya Alawi, the College of Environmental Sciences/Department of Environmental Health held its annual creative exhibition. Students, under the supervision of a group of faculty members from the department, including Dr. Liqaa Saeed Abdullah and Ms. Basma Mohammed Nadheer, presented a range of scientific works and projects reflecting their innovative skills in addressing health and environmental issues.

The student activity aimed to provide students with knowledge about chemical reactions that occur in the environment (biochemistry: Our Path Towards a Sustainable Environment and Health) and how human activities and pollutants affect air, water, and soil. It also aimed to encourage students to analyze current environmental problems and develop sustainable chemical solutions. The exhibition also included several publications explaining the most important local and international environmental laws and regulations related to the chemical industry and waste management, and how these laws contribute to protecting natural resources. The activity achieved four Sustainable Development Goals, including: (good health, quality education, responsible consumption and production, and climate action), reflecting the university’s role in promoting scientific and environmental awareness and encouraging students to be creative and participate effectively.
