College of Environmental Sciences

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, and with the attendance of the Head of the Department of Environmental Technologies, Assistant Professor Dr. Hazem Jumaa Mahmoud, a seminar entitled “The Importance of Afforestation for the Ecosystem” was held in the Department of Environmental Technologies. The seminar was presented by Ms. Abeer Saleh Attia, a faculty member in the Department of Environmental Technologies at our college.

The seminar addressed the concept of afforestation and the role of trees in purifying the air and regulating the climate. It highlighted their vital role in absorbing carbon dioxide, producing oxygen, and mitigating global warming. Furthermore, the seminar discussed how trees contribute to soil stabilization, prevent erosion, and provide a healthy environment for living organisms. The challenges facing afforestation campaigns were also addressed, along with the most prominent proposed solutions to enhance afforestation efforts and overcome these challenges.
