Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, the College of Environmental Sciences, in cooperation with the General Directorate for Combating Intellectual Terrorism in Nineveh, held a scientific workshop entitled:

“Be Aware.” The workshop took place on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in the discussion hall of the College of Environmental Sciences.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Kadhim Faisal Al-Shabaki.

The workshop aimed to highlight the issue of intellectual terrorism and the dangers of extremist and deviant ideas that target the awareness of individuals and society, particularly young people, through misleading intellectual and media methods. The workshop also sought to enhance cultural and intellectual awareness, develop the ability to distinguish between sound thinking and destructive ideas, and instill the values ​​of moderation and balance, thereby contributing to protecting society from being drawn into hate speech and extremism. The workshop also conveyed a clear message of awareness, calling for intellectual vigilance, encouraging participants to think critically, and urging them not to be swayed by rumors or extremist rhetoric. It emphasized the role of individual and institutional awareness in confronting intellectual terrorism and building a safe and cohesive society based on dialogue and peaceful coexistence.

In conclusion, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Waleed Saeed Al-Abbasi, presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Mr. Kadhim Faisal Al-Shabaki.
