A scientific visit by students of the Climate Change Department to the Rocks, Crystals and Minerals Laboratory at the College of Science
Under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Tai, and the supervision of the Head of the Climate Change Department, Dr. Ali Zain Al-Abidin Al-Azeer, and as part of the Earth Science course requirements, first-year students in the Climate Change Department, accompanied by a select group of faculty members, conducted a scientific visit to the Rocks, Crystals, and Minerals Laboratory in the Department of Earth and Petroleum Sciences at the College of Science on Monday, December 29, 2025.
The visit included introducing students to rocks and their types, crystals and their forms, and minerals and their various types.
The visit aimed to reinforce theoretical knowledge with practical application, and it achieved four Sustainable Development Goals:
Goal 4: Quality Education
Goal 9: Innovation and Scientific Infrastructure
Goal 13: Climate Action
Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
