College of Environmental Sciences

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences, Professor Dr. Muthanna Jassim Al-Taie, the College of Environmental Sciences/Department of Environmental Technology, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held a workshop entitled “Basics of Writing Scientific Research” this morning, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the college’s discussion hall.
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Rasha Khaled Sabri, Head of the Scientific Research Support Unit at the University of Mosul Presidency, and Assistant Lecturer Hanan Riyadh Jarallah.
The workshop included… highlighting the stages of writing scientific research, starting with selecting a significant and original research idea, defining the problem and formulating objectives, and ending with documentation methods and publishing mechanisms in peer-reviewed scientific journals classified within international databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. Scientific research has today become a fundamental standard for the progress of nations and the advancement of their academic institutions. It is no longer limited to mere requirements for promotion or completion of academic degrees. Rather, it represents the spirit of the university, a reflection of its quality performance, and a source of influence within its local and global environment. Hence, mastering scientific research methodology is not an academic luxury; rather, it is a pillar of institutional excellence and a guarantee for achieving academic accreditation at all levels.
