Best Theater Direction Award for the Faculty of Fine Arts at the First Syriac Theater Festival
Professor Dr. Nashat Mubarak Saliwa, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Mosul, received the award for the best theatrical direction for the play (Rituals of Firewood), in addition to the college receiving a shield for participation in the First Syriac Theater Festival, which was held in Erbil Governorate, Ainkawa District, 14-16/2023, after Five theatrical performances competed, ranging from monodrama to traditional theatrical performances.
The festival was achieved in the presence of a large public, Iraqi media, and academic, artistic and cultural elites.
The roles of the show were embodied by the artists Shawqi Hekmat, Wissam Barbar, and Saddam Salem. The work was written by the playwright Ibrahim Golan, and it is a joint product and cooperation between our college and the Qaraqosh Theater Troupe for acting.
