Under the slogan “Sustainable Creativity,” the College of Fine Arts concludes its 17th annual festival

On Thursday, April 30, 2026, the College of Fine Arts at the University of Mosul concluded the activities of its 17th annual festival under the slogan “Sustainable Creativity… Art that Makes the Future.” The closing ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hamid Ibrahim Al-Rashidi, along with an elite group of professors, students, and theater specialists, in addition to a gathering of children and their families.
The concluding day featured three theatrical performances presented by students of the Department of Art Education at the Experimental Theater Hall, specifically designed to simulate the world of childhood using an innovative educational and pedagogical approach. The performances began with the play “Hakim Al-Ghabah” (The Wise Man of the Forest), directed by Marwa Ziyad, followed by “Bustan Al-Malika” (The Queen’s Orchard), directed by Aseel Najm Al-Din, and concluded with “Mawhoob wa Surat Al-Zaeem” (Mawhoob and the Leader’s Picture), directed by Ghaida Talal.
The performances were characterized by blending moral guidance with comedy, striving to instill correct concepts and values in children’s minds and simplify information and scientific facts in a way that ensured their engagement without distraction. This underscored the importance of such initiatives in enhancing the role of university theater as an effective tool for socialization and developing the artistic taste of new generations.
