On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the College of Fine Arts in Mosul organized a seminar on women’s empowerment to achieve sustainable development.

The College of Fine Arts, in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department / Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, held a scientific seminar today, Sunday, March 8, 2026, entitled “Empowering Women to Build a Sustainable and Successful Society.” The event witnessed attendance by the college’s staff and faculty members, with lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Mayada Majeed Al-Bajlan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hadeel Subhi, and Assist. Lecturer Jinan Abdul-Razzaq.

The seminar aimed to highlight the essential role of women as a core pillar in sustainable development plans, and to explore ways to empower them scientifically and practically to ensure the building of a developed and stable society. It also addressed mechanisms for enhancing leadership opportunities for female academics and employees, shed light on their achievements in facing contemporary challenges, and aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 5, and 8.
