In the presence of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Tahseen Mohsen Hussein, the master’s thesis defense of student Ruba Shakir Ghanem Al-Taie was held on the morning of Thursday, July 31, 2025, in the discussion hall of the College of Nursing / University of Mosul.
The thesis is titled:
“Factors Affecting Perceived Work-Life Balance Among Nurses: A Cross-Sectional Study in Mosul City Hospitals.”
This discussion aligns with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education), as the study aimed to identify the factors influencing the perceived work-life balance among nurses working in Mosul hospitals.
The results revealed that work pressure, number of working hours, and marital status were among the most significant influencing factors.
The study further showed that the majority of nurses suffer from poor work-life balance, with a clear correlation between longer working hours and decreased balance levels. Additionally, schedule flexibility and administrative support were found to improve the balance.
The examination committee consisted of the following members:

Prof. Dr. Ameen Ajeel Yasser – Chair / College of Nursing – University of Babylon
-
Prof. Dr. Anmar Burhan Saeed – Member / College of Medicine – University of Mosul
