Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Mosul Participates in the First Periodic Meeting of Nursing Deans in Iraqi Universities

As part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and advance nursing education in Iraq, the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Mosul, Dr. Tahsein Muhsin Hussein, participated in the first periodic meeting of the deans of nursing colleges in Iraqi universities for the academic year 2025–2026, hosted by Bilad Al-Rafidain University.

The meeting was attended by deans and representatives of nursing colleges from various Iraqi universities. Discussions focused on several key topics, most notably the development of curricula in line with modern academic standards, improving the quality of nursing education, and enhancing joint scientific research. Participants also highlighted the importance of preparing strategic plans to graduate qualified nursing staff capable of meeting labor market needs and supporting healthcare institutions.

During his participation, the Dean emphasized the College of Nursing’s commitment at the University of Mosul to keeping pace with scientific advancements and applying best academic practices. He stressed the college’s vital role in preparing distinguished professionals capable of advancing the healthcare sector in Nineveh and Iraq as a whole.

This meeting comes as part of a series of regular gatherings aimed at unifying the vision among nursing colleges in Iraqi universities and working to create a modern educational and research environment that contributes to serving society and improving the level of healthcare.

The meeting concluded by affirming the pioneering role of the University of Mosul among Iraqi universities, recognizing its solid academic expertise and its status as a prestigious scientific institution that has long contributed to preparing generations of medical and nursing professionals serving the healthcare sector and supporting Iraq’s development journey.
