Innovation and Technology in Sports: New Horizons for Enhancing Performance and Learning

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the direction of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Professor Ahmed Hamed Al-Suwaidi, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with Al-Noor Private University, organized its international scientific conference entitled “Innovation and Technology in Sports: New Horizons for Enhancing Performance and Learning.” The conference was held from April 13-15, 2025.

The conference activities began with the playing of the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of Iraq’s martyrs. Professor Ahmed Hamed Al-Suwaidi, Dean of the College, then delivered a welcoming speech announcing the launch of the conference. This was followed by a documentary film reviewing the college’s history and achievements. On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahid, Undersecretary of the Ministry, delivered the opening remarks. The President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, then delivered his remarks. This was followed by a speech by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Noor Private University, Dr. Bashar Muhammad Ali. A documentary film about Al-Noor Private University was then screened.

Professor Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Chairman of the Committee of Deans of Faculties of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Iraq, also delivered a speech on the occasion.

On the sidelines of the conference, a meeting of the Committee of Deans of Faculties of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Iraq was held.

The opening session concluded with the distribution of shields and gifts of appreciation to the conference guests
