Quality Assurance Division

The Division seeks to establish an effective system and strategic plans to ensure the quality and rigor of the academic process. By fostering a culture of quality, it aims to continuously improve and develop the college’s academic and educational systems, enhancing current performance and securing future excellence. The division is headed by Dr. Omar Samir Dhanoun.


Tasks and Duties of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division:

  • Implementation of Quality Standards: Applying comprehensive quality requirements and the educational quality management system approved by the University of Mosul and the Ministry, while establishing the necessary mechanisms for execution.

  • Promoting Organizational Culture: Spreading the culture of quality assurance, academic accreditation standards, and laboratory quality among faculty members, students, and staff.

  • Strategic Planning: Setting future goals for performance quality within the college, activating these goals, and monitoring their achievement periodically.

  • Academic Program Specification: Following up on specification reports for academic programs and courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate) and auditing the college’s annual reports at the start of each year.

  • Internal Coordination: Holding periodic meetings with division representatives, heads of scientific departments, and units to discuss updates and ensure tasks are completed promptly.

  • Committee Management: Proposing the formation of specialized sub-committees to implement quality goals and activities within specified timelines.

  • Scientific Activities: Organizing seminars and workshops specialized in quality assurance, university performance evaluation, and educational laboratory accreditation.

  • Institutional Communication: Maintaining constant communication with the Quality Assurance Department at the University Presidency and participating in committees, courses, and workshops related to quality activities.

  • Annual Performance Evaluation: Supervising the completion and auditing of annual performance evaluation files for faculty, staff, and senior leadership, then endorsing and submitting them to the University Presidency.

  • Database Management: Continuously maintaining and updating the division’s database and providing proposals to develop electronic evaluation files.

  • Documentation of Faculty Achievements: Archiving the scientific activities of each faculty member (research, conferences, authorship, supervision, and community service) by maintaining dedicated files for each scientific department.

  • Laboratory and Equipment Quality: Monitoring the implementation of the quality system in laboratories and conducting auditing tours for the coding of devices and equipment and documenting manufacturer data.

  • Safety and Calibration: Following up on occupational safety procedures, laboratory equipment calibration, and defining responsibilities and authorities in work management and compliance procedures.

  • Ministerial Files and Rankings Management: Completing central files, including the National Ranking, self-evaluation reports, academic program descriptions, student surveys, and the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guide.
