Regional Studies Center Hosts PhD Students in Modern History to Strengthen the Integration between Academic Research and Applied Studies

The Regional Studies Center welcomed, on Monday, April 6, 2026, an academic delegation of postgraduate (PhD) students specializing in Modern History from the College of Education for Humanities / Department of History. The visit aimed to strengthen the integration between academic research and applied studies in regional issues.

The delegation was received by the Center’s Director along with a number of faculty members and researchers. A scholarly discussion session was held, addressing the importance of regional studies in understanding contemporary political and historical transformations, as well as the role of the academic researcher in analyzing international and regional interactions from a rigorous historical perspective.

The visit also included an introductory presentation on the Center’s activities, research programs, and public policy analysis. Emphasis was placed on the importance of employing the historical method to anticipate future developments and to better understand the dynamics of conflict and cooperation in the region.

During the meeting, the themes of the visit were linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting the role of academic and research institutions in supporting Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), as well as promoting scientific partnerships aligned with Goal 17.

At the conclusion of the visit, the postgraduate students expressed their appreciation for the warm reception, underscoring the importance of such academic visits in enhancing their research capabilities and fostering engagement with think tanks. These experiences contribute to preparing a generation of scholars capable of serving society and keeping pace with regional and international challenges.
