Director of the Remote Sensing Center Holds Meeting with Faculty Members on the Occasion of the Start of the New Academic Year

The Director of the Remote Sensing Center at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulrahman Ramzi Qabaa, held a meeting with the faculty members of the Center on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as part of preparations for the start of the new academic year and within the framework of monitoring academic and research activities and enhancing the Center’s scientific performance.

The meeting addressed several issues, including reviewing the research plan for the previous academic year and its implementation rate, as well as discussing the research plan for the new academic year and mechanisms for developing academic performance and strengthening cooperation among the scientific departments. The meeting also discussed ways to support research, scientific, and training activities and encouraged faculty members to propose scientific initiatives and projects that contribute to enhancing the Center’s academic standing.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of adhering to university regulations and instructions, organizing academic work, and clearly distributing duties and responsibilities. During the meeting, the Director stressed the importance of teamwork, strengthening communication and coordination among faculty members, and making effective use of various artificial intelligence tools to enhance academic and research performance and strengthen the position of the Remote Sensing Center within the University.

The meeting is also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through supporting academic development, research, and the adoption of modern technologies; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through encouraging innovation and the use of artificial intelligence tools in academic and research activities; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening cooperation, coordination, and knowledge exchange among the Center’s scientific departments.

As part of the ongoing scientific and research activities of the Remote Sensing Center at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Abdul-Hadi Al-Jawadi and Assistant Lecturer Dina Maan Abdullah, faculty members at the Center, have jointly published a scientific research paper entitled
