Scientific discussion _ college of law

On Monday, 01/18/2021, a discussion took place in our college, a master’s student in the human rights law branch, Khaled Abdullah Ali, about his message tagged (the application of the principle of non-impunity during the transitional justice phase) under the supervision of Dr. Fathi Muhammad Fathy

The discussion committee is chaired by Dr. Muhammad YunusYahya / Faculty of Law, University of Mosul, with the membership of the doctorSulafa Tariq Al-Shaalan / Faculty of Law, Qadisiyah University, and Dr. Soha Hamid Salim / Faculty of Law, University of Mosul

The researcher discussed the issue of transitional justice and impunity, which has come to the fore in the attention of international and national public opinion in the context of the deep and great transformations that the world knows

The concept of transitional justice is a title under which several measures have been taken by different societies in circumstances in which they emerged from a stage in their history characterized by authoritarian practices and violations of human rights.

The researcher reached a number of results, in the forefront of which is that the principle of non-impunity has become one of the principles rooted in international and national legal systems, and it is considered an end and a means at the same time. The case of peace building and restructuring of the political system

At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee accepted the student’s thesis and was granted a master’s degree in international human rights law
