Master’s thesis in the branch of public law on the controls of the authority of the criminal judge in assessing the penalty / a comparative study

The Public Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on the controls of the criminal judge’s authority in assessing punishment / a comparative study on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Part of it was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College and Assistant Professor Dr. Qidar Abdul Qadir Saleh, Head of the Public Law Branch And a number of college council members and teachers

The master’s thesis presented by the student Haitham Nazim Ahmed in the public law branch dealt with determining the appropriate punishment for the seriousness of the crime and the circumstances of the perpetrator, which is one of the most important aspects of the discretionary power granted by the legislator to the criminal judge in order to achieve the purpose of punishment in order to establish justice in the end

The study aims to define the criminal judge as the ability of the criminal judge to choose the most appropriate punishment according to its minimum and highest limits in the legal text according to the personal circumstances of the offender and the circumstances of committing the crime

The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas Hamoudi, with the membership of Dr. Talal Abdel Hussein, Dr. Uday Talfah Muhammad, and the membership and supervision of Dr. Nofal Ali Abdullah
