Master’s degree in Human Rights Law on the international protection of holy religious places in Iraq during armed conflict – college of law

The branch of Human Rights Law at the Faculty of Law at Mosul University discussed on Wednesday, May 5, 2020, a Master’s Message on the International Protection of Holy Religious Places in Iraq during the Armed Conflicts, was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wassam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, my uncle The professor of the faculty and a number of its board members and its teachers.

The message presented by the student, Roa Muhannad Hassib, in the Human Rights Law Branch, addressed the sacred religious places and their position in peoples for what they contain spiritual and ideological assets, and of their economic, political and civilized importance, therefore the international community was interested in protecting these places Sacred during the period of armed conflict, whether of a nature. International or not of an international nature, where the parties of the conflict were obliged to abide by the rules of protecting holy religious places.

The study aims to a statement that although the Hague Convention of 2020 added protection to holy religious places as cultural property, this protection varied between public and private in addition to the enhanced protection brought by the Second Additional Protocol of the year The Hague Agreement was not in 2015 but this protection was Minor and inadequate due to the gross violations imposed on holy religious places.

The discussion committee was chaired by Mr. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Razzaq Digam, and the members of the Assistant Professor Dr. Ziad Abdel-Wahab Abdullah, the assistant professor Dr. Hala Ahmed Mohammed, and the membership and supervision of Mr. Assistant Professor Dr. Shaima Abdel-Sattar Jabr.
