The General Law Branch at the Faculty of Law at Mosul University, on Sunday, May 5, 2020, discussed a Master’s Message on Freedom of the Press and the Restrictions contained on it, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Wassam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, and a number of members of the College Board and its teachers. . The message presented by the student Dlovan Mohammed Saleh in the branch of general law addressed the freedom of the press, which is the most important focal points of the democratic system and an important indicator of the wise state, where the freedom of the media was included within human rights and its fundamental freedoms that most vows and International Conventions on Human Rights committed by the states parties By translating these principles into its internal legislatures, the freedom of the press is not absolute, but it can be subject to some organizational restrictions to ensure the protection of the rights of individuals and their freedoms and the public interests of the community and enable state institutions to exercise their duties in maintaining security and public order. The message aims at the statement that journalism in its broad modern concept prepares to disseminate news and opinions to the public through different means of publishing, meaning that the term journalism is not limited to read journalism but to mean all types of journalism (read, audible and visual).
