Master’s Thesis in Public Law on Constitutional Judiciary and Democracy
On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, the Public Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on constitutional judiciary and democracy, part of which was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College and a number of members of the College Council and its teachers.
The letter presented by the student Tawfiq Abdel Hafez Tawfiq in the public law branch dealt with the constitutional judiciary, which plays a key role in consolidating the rule of law. That it has a degree of independence in the administrative and financial fields, as well as what affects this supervisory institution, how it is formed in terms of selecting members.
The thesis aims to show that the criteria that define the constitutional judiciary are narrow formality and broad objectivity, and the latter focuses on the essence of the function performed by the body that undertakes constitutional oversight, whether it is political or judicial. The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Thanoun Hussein, the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Harith Adeeb Ibrahim, the teacher Dr. Ali Hussein Yassin, and the membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Doula Ahmed Abdullah.
