Master’s Thesis in Human Rights Law Branch on Human Dignity in the Light of Contemporary Scientific Developments,,,
On Thursday, October 27, 2022, the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on human dignity in light of contemporary scientific developments. Part of it was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College and a number of members of the College Council and its teachers.
The letter submitted by the student Shaima Ahmed Hussein in the human rights law branch dealt with human dignity, which is the cornerstone on which human rights are based, as it is the cornerstone of international human rights law. Reference to it in the preamble to the Charter of the United Nations of 1945 and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, as it was referred to in many international and regional charters, treaties and declarations concerned with human rights. International, constitutional and legislative guarantees.
The message aims to show that human dignity is an attribute that is closely related to the individual, as it is an innate and inherent characteristic of him, and no human can be deprived of it, as it is the basis and source of human rights and freedoms. His dignity will be wasted, and attention to human dignity has passed through history through several stages between wasting and strengthening, and the national and international interest in human dignity has increased, and this has been observed in many international agreements and treaties, constitutions and national legislation.
The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaib Khaled Jassim, the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Suhad Abdel Jamal Abdul Karim, the teacher Dr. Uday Muhammad Reda, and the membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Raqib Muhammad Jassim.
