Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Qusai Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Mosul, and in the presence of a number of members of the College Council, the Private Law Branch in our college held on Monday, December 26, 2022, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, its scientific workshop Tagged with the legal protection of the Arabic language between text and implementation, where a number of teachers of the private law branch presented research papers that shed light on the reality of the Arabic language on the one hand and its protection by laws and regulations in addition to presenting a theoretical and practical treatment of the legal protection of the Arabic language and its activation on the other hand, and given the challenges and difficulties it faces The process surrounding the application and implementation of legal protection for it on the other hand, due to the infiltration of the foreign language that invaded the various spheres of life, which constituted an explicit violation of the use of the Arabic language, which required the protection and preservation of our language and the guarantee of its sovereignty, especially in the legal field that requires legal formulation in a sound and clear language for regulations and requests And petitions submitted before the various judicial authorities, as touched upon It referred to the officialness of the Arabic language in constitutions, including the Iraqi constitution of 2005, which considered Arabic one of the official languages in the country. The workshop also demonstrated aspects of legal protection in private legislation, with reference to the Law of Preserving the Integrity of the Arabic Language, which obligated official and unofficial bodies to preserve the integrity of the Arabic language. The workshop also showed the role of commercial legislation in preserving the integrity of the Arabic language and the role of the Iraqi commercial law, which obligated the trader to have the trade name that he takes to distinguish his commercial place from other shops an Arabic or Iraqi name, otherwise it is illegal. The workshop witnessed a remarkable presence of researchers, academics and interested people. In legal affairs, in addition to the college cadres and its affiliates, who asked many questions and inquiries about the topic of the workshop, they were answered in detail by those in charge of it. Within the series of scientific, cultural and student activities for the private law branch during the current academic year 20 22-2023.
