Master’s thesis on price freedom according to competition and monopoly prevention legislation / a comparative study,,,
On Monday, January 9, 2023, the Private Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on freedom of prices in accordance with competition and monopoly prevention legislation / a comparative study, part of which was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, and a number of members of the College Council and its teachers.
The thesis submitted by the student, Sabhan Abdel-Razzaq Qased, in the private law branch, dealt with prices, which are the economic engine of countries, and the philosophy adopted by the state in economic activity is what defines the features of this economy, just as freedom of prices is a general principle, and there are exceptions that respond to this principle and highlight the importance of freedom of prices in connection with it With two important pillars, one legal and the other economic, as the practice of economic activity is linked to the extent of the effectiveness of competition, and competition can only be achieved by respecting some principles, of which the principle of freedom of prices is the most prominent.
The message aims to show that the Iraqi legislator did not address the legal regulation of the principle of freedom of prices in a systematic and codified manner, and the official character of prices is determined through the legislative text (such as interest rates, customs tariffs, etc.) The market and according to the supply and demand system that determines the price of the service or commodity.
The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Ibrahim Ali, membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Bushra Khaled Turki, Assistant Professor Dr. Radwan Hashim Hamdoun, membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Essam Daoud
