The University of Mosul, through the Faculties of Law, Computer Science, Mathematics and Fine Arts, and the Department of Student Activities in cooperation with the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, on Tuesday 21-2-2023, held the first edition of the Prophet of Mercy Cultural Festival at the University of Mosul, in the presence of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal al-Din al-Ahmadi and his scientific assistants The administrator, a number of university presidents in Nineveh Governorate, the advisor of the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, Mr. Talal Al-Bir, the deans of the faculties of the University of Mosul, and academic and media elites.
The university’s grand theater hall hosted the festival’s activities, which included the opening ceremony, in which a number of words and poems were recited.
A number of intellectual and cultural competitions were held, in addition to book exhibitions, with the participation of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs and the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge of the Abbasid Shrine, in addition to an exhibition of holdings from the Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts.
The Faculty of Law, represented by its Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, the honorable members of the Faculty Council and a number of its affiliates participated in the work of the festival’s preparatory committee. The Faculty of Law was one of the active partners in this festival.
The festival was attended by a generous party of the employees and students of the University of Mosul and a number of elites and personalities in Nineveh Governorate.
