On Monday, February 27, 2023, the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a higher diploma research on the impact of the Corona pandemic outbreak on the human right to work / a study in international labor law, part of which was banned by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nimat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College and a number of College council members and teachers.
The research submitted by the student, Zina Saleh Hamed, in the Human Rights Law branch dealt with the diseases that afflicted humanity throughout history, including the Corona pandemic, which affected the lives of all human beings, including the worker who was affected by the cessation of his work and livelihood during the outbreak of the Corona pandemic. It is worth noting that the national legislation International instruments and agreements have guaranteed the human right to work while providing protection for this right.
The research aims to show that the Corona pandemic is not a state of emergency, but rather an economic, social, and humanitarian crisis that quickly turned into an international human rights crisis, in addition to the economic collapse of countries, which constituted a great burden on the countries in which this pandemic spread.
The discussion committee was chaired by Dr. Alia Ghazi Taher, the membership of Dr. Faris Muhammad Hussein, and the membership and supervision of Dr. Soha Hamid Salim.
