PhD thesis in the branch of public law on climate change and its impact on the purposes of the United Nations ,,,
On Sunday, June 25, 2023, the Public Law Branch at the Faculty of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a doctoral thesis on climate change and its impact on the purposes of the United Nations, part of which was attended by Prof. Dr. Qusai Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and a number of members of our college council and teachers.
The thesis presented by the student Abdul Samad Tele Omar in the Public Law branch dealt with one of the most important and complex issues on the international arena with a great impact on the purposes of the United Nations by studying climate change and demonstrating its impact on the expansion of the concept of international peace and security and deriving the resulting challenges to human security and human rights. The study made a number of recommendations represented in strengthening international efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the United Nations to encourage member states to adopt new policies and programs to reduce these emissions and the need for fossil energy migration and ensure the ecological transition towards renewable energies.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Younis Yahya and the membership of Prof. Dr. Talaat Ajyad Laji, Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Assistant Professor Dr. Ziad Abdel Wahab Abdullah, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazim Daoud, and the membership and supervision of Prof. Dr. Khalaf Ramadan Mohamed.
