Prof. Dr. Raqib Muhammad Jassem, one of the lecturers of the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law / Assistant Director of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Mosul, participated on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in the closing meeting of the project (Reducing Violent Extremism through Education in Iraq), which was held in the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of Representatives of UNESCO and the Ministries of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Education. During the meeting, UNESCO’s plans and programs to curb violent extremism in and outside Iraq were discussed. The meeting also reviewed and evaluated violent extremism programs, lessons learned and recommendations related to future programs, as well as a review of the most prominent activities undertaken. It has a UNESCO chair at the University of Mosul since its inception and the most prominent programs and projects that are currently being implemented in coordination with a number of international universities and research centers inside and outside Iraq.
